2016-09-30 21.46.01Tiffney is a native of North Carolina.  As a child, she was raised by modest, hardworking parents who worked for a rural textile factory and who inspired her to dream and to embrace new opportunities.  For twenty years, she has worked in the academic, community nonprofit and faith-based sectors.  Currently, Tiffney is the Project Director for the National Community Action Partnership in Washington, DC where she currently oversees an initiative that identifies innovative practice models for addressing the causes and conditions of poverty through national virtual peer Learning Communities. These groups learn and work together to redesign their programmatic strategies, collaborating with governmental and private stakeholders to identify barriers and re-imagine processes which support systems-level transformation for urban, rural, and tribal communities engaged in promising practices for alleviating poverty. Prior to joining the Partnership team, Ms. Marley was the Training Coordinator for the North Carolina Community Action Association where she provided executive instructional design, program architecture and organizational development, including board governance, leadership development and strategic planning.  Additionally, she worked with multidisciplinary industry experts to provide customized training & technical assistance and design of data collection protocol and data analysis processes for community assessment and program implementation efforts. Previously the Director of Black Church Studies at Duke University Divinity School, Tiffney developed and administered international awareness and social justice continuing education programs in the United States, Africa and South America.  Her exposure to the sufferings of persons in Africa and Latin America have inspired her commitment to global social justice issues.  In her free time she articulates an aspect of her perspective through her paintings which celebrate the unsung expressions of the global south. Tiffney is an ordained American Baptist minister and has served in various capacities in local congregations; however she is an ecumenical soul having ministered in Missionary Baptist, United Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalist, United Holy and Pentacostal holiness contexts. For twenty-two years she has preached every where from the storefront to the cathedral and various contexts in the U.S., Latin America and Africa. Tiffney is a Certified Community Action Professional, Nationally Certified ROMA Master Trainer.  She also holds a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy, a Master of Divinity from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University.
